Benefits & Logic

Dynamic coal flow balancing also requires our specially engineered logic when used in a controlled loop operation. This highly advanced system processes information collected from measurements, feedback from the PBG-1 Valves, and additional plant data. This integrated software and hardware package is designed to handle individual combustion challenges as needed.

Software

We also provide the solution to integrate the software into your DCS directly or to use the SPPA-T 3000 from Siemens as an automation server.

Similarly designed power plants can still vary greatly in their construction. Even when the generated energy is the same, the performance of each individual unit cannot be standardized. Accordingly, the tasks for achieving similar energy production with optimal performance differ from unit to unit. Therefore, the benefits or potential savings gained from combustion optimization vary for each power plant.

SIEMENS

The coal flow balancing valves balanced the coal flow within 5.12 %. Consequential effects were a reduction in CO on average from 951 ppm to 294 ppm. The 02 spread in the measurements was also significantly reduced from and average of 0.89 % to 0.19 %.

CO reduction has benefits in the area of: ï»¿ï»¿reduced furnace wall boiler tube wastage, improved boiler availability, ï»¿ï»¿improved heat rate if total combustion air is held constant or controlled more tightly than currently.

PA and SA testing showed potential benefits: NOx reduction & Heat rate improvement
